I hope that by writing this blog topic I can share a little bit about my love of travelling, and also my passion… and as well to fulfill my sense of adventure. This is one of my favorite quotes of all time “There is only one success – to spend your life in your own way.” I am so grateful for my parents because of them, I have been able to live the life I want to. How many countries have I visited?
The following words are not true but some day this will become reality “The top male solo traveler in the world, Dy Dara is smart, witty and a great story-teller that knows how to have a good time as he travels. From Asia to Europe to Central America and more, looking at his photos is almost like traveling the world with your best friend.”

My greatest enthusiasm is travelling. Travelling has been my Life! (the most important and enjoyable thing in my life) Enthusiasm = a subject or activity that interests you very much. Travel is the movement of people between relatively distant geographical locations for any purpose and any duration. This is my big problem that I will tell my future wife: “I am a Wanderlust which means a very strong desire or irresistible impulse to travel. I can spend a little money on my living but I need to take travel once a month otherwise I become a stressful and aggressive person! People think that everyone must follow the same template for life: go to school, get a stable job, get married, have kids. If you deviate, you’re, well, deviant. I’ve never been afraid of any deviation. Mr. Hardcore Traveler wants to stay Single As Long As Possible. There is only one success – to be able to spend your life in your own way. I definitely can’t get enough of 3 things in particular – My former lover, travelling, and movies.
Traveling is the best way to get life experience. I just wanna live my life to the fullest, nothing more, nothing less.

Judge me all you want, but keep the verdict to yourself. This picture express about my wanderlust. There are 2 sides of every story, most people said to me “You are a happy man all the time” Here is another story of me! When you are focusing on one thing, you will miss another things. Travelling – It’s not a hobby… It’s a way of life. Trip is a random trip for most people but for me, it is what I live for! The desire to pursue my interests and dreams. Travel is not just a hobby or vacation for some of us. Rather, it’s a lifestyle, a way of life, a reason for living, an obsession. It’s something we simply can’t live without. And so I got to wondering, being that travel is such an as-vital-as-water-and-air part of our lives, where did it this wanderlust really all begin? What moment in time did the wonderlust spark inside of us? At what point was there no turning back for us?
My life is more interesting when I am at youth exchange program. The Trip Of A Lifetime – My Best trip so far SSEAYP, the most amazing trip I’ve had to date. I still get goosebumps, for it was one of the most enriching experiences of my life!!! I remember thinking it almost felt like I was coming up on alcohol and get high. I was giggling at everything, and was amazed and how beautiful everything was starting to look. I knew I was in for a great trip. A program that has been changing the youth’s life, vision and future, and I was lucky that I was there in 2005! I am very grateful that I have been a part of this awesome program; it gives me a great sense of pride.🙂 It’s an honor and I will never forget it. my home in the air My two passions in life are traveling and photography. Maximum Fun On A Minimum Budget I learn how to travel on low budget from backpacker. When they come to Cambodia, they spend 5 buck a night at guesthouse and have bread.
Out of all my travels, this is one of my favorite photos of all time.
Dara’s motto is, “Being a hedonist is a philosophical way of my life. In other words, I like to live and behave in ways that I can get as much pleasure out of life as possible according to the belief that the most important thing in life is to enjoy oneself. Also, I like to learn, to experience and to explore life. I can do whatever I want with my life. This is my life. But whatever I do, I just don’t step on other people’s shoes, do not spit on other people’s life and don’t force someone against his or her will. “In the end, it’s not going to matter how many breaths you took, but how many moments took your breath away.” Travelling is the only time I feel alive! “Life happens when you’re busy making other plans.” In my version “Life happens when I hit the road.” Many people called me “Firefly” which means I am always on the move. For example, in 5 days, I went to many different cities, from Battambang to Siem Reap and then I went to Bangkok after that I headed to Phnom Penh.

My best trip in six year! “Experiences are more likely to bring us together.” Says Elizabeth Dunn. A new gadget is good for a jolt of short-term happiness, but a study published in the Journal of Consumer Research found that it’s the experiential purchases – like a weekend getaway with some friends – that keep us smiling over the long run. My favorite thing is to go where I’ve never been. This trip is like The Amazing Race (a reality television game show) I took a car, airplane, motorbike, ferry, and long-tail boat to Maya Bay, Koh Phi Phi. Ya is at Maya Bay! It is worth coming all the way. I am glad I have came here. This wouldn’t have been possible without you. Thanks to you, Tiang! Maya Bay – location for the Hollywood film ‘The Beach’ My 7th trip of 2014 is the trip of the year and it is also my best trip of my recent years. Thanks to those who makes this trip so special to me! 8 nights and 9 days (12-20 April 2014) in Thailand. My journey in a nut shell. I come all the long way to see Trang Music Festival and Koh Phi Phi. I want to see Boom Boom Cash the most in Trang. That is my fav band in the whole world. I saw them at Barca match in Bangkok last year. I love Koh Phi Phi so much and I have that place in my bucket list. I buy an iPhone 5S and DSLR camera for this trip. I want to make this trip as my best memory in recent years. One of my legs is not good but when it comes to travelling I can walk for the whole day and I’ll be motivated and driven. A man driven by his passion and desire. I think I travel more than average people do (I make about 20 trips a year) and I also stay at home more than average people do as well (I stay at my shophouse for 22 hours a day for 27 days out of 30 days). I have strong urge to hit the road because when I’m home, part of me is yearning for the other places I have connected to. I am sick when I stay at my shophouse all the time but when it comes to travel, it can inject me with energy and I feel alive. There was one time, I was hangover, had a few hours of sleep, vomited and I felt I have no strength at all, but when my friend needed me to drive for him. I felt I had strength when I hit the road. I could not believe myself where I got that energy. I did this for friendship and travelling. “Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness.” – Mark Twain “The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.” – St. Augustine “I never travel without my diary. One should always have something sensational to read in the train.” Oscar Wilde “Travel, in the younger sort, is a part of education; in the elder, a part of experience.” Francis Bacon “Every perfect traveler always creates the country where he travels.” – Nikos Kazantzakis You wanna hear something funny about my travelling? I am not good at doing business but when I travelled abroad, foreign governments paid everything for my trips. When I travel around Cambodia, my friends, relatives and, my parents pay everything for me. Thank you so much!🙂 I just don’t have a chance to prove myself about this “I can be a good businessman”. When it comes to travel this is my catchphrase “Go out and make some memories!” I feel honor and gratitude to my friends and relatives who always ask me to join their trips, even though I have a little money. Where do you see yourself in 10 years? I think I am still a single man who fulfills my sense of adventure and walking somewhere in the world. Cambodian Backpacker!🙂 I leave early for my host family, even though I wanted to stay until the party’s over. I didn’t want to go to their home at late night. 20.10.2010
I want to travel like nomadic people (nomadic means they do not stay in one place for a long time). nomad 1. A member of a group of people who have no fixed home and move according to the seasons from place to place in search of food, water, and grazing land. 2. A person with no fixed residence who roams about; a wanderer. I would like to try a bohemian lifestyle someday!🙂 In life it is not where you go – it is who you travel with! Travel with this relative makes me feel so happy and super excited! Journeys Are Made by the People You Travel With!

Peace Boat would be my trip of a lifetime! The world is so beautiful why we waste time spending in one place! I have a great passion for life! Experience all that life has to offer!🙂 Do you know what I think to make my every day life exciting even sometimes I am a stay at home person “I’m always looking forward to my next trip or adventure, and wherever that may be…” This trip made me realize that I love traveling more than money. That time jailbreak tool was released on the Internet and many people brought their iPhone and iPad to my shop but I chose to travel. It’s kind of irresponsible to do that. “Life is either a daring adventure or nothing.” -Helen Keller Fun is what I do!😀 The most famous landmarks in the world! Travel Means Different Things to Different People. To me it is not only about having fun it is also about learning, experiencing and exploring life.🙂 When it comes to travel I rarely feel tired even though I don’t have enough sleep or food.🙂 Driven by his passions and desires!🙂 ឃើញផ្ទាល់ភ្នែកបាន២ landmarksហើយ: Opera House ហើយនឹង Bank of China Tower Opera House The landmark of Hong Kong, Bank of China Tower with its outstanding bamboo-like architectural design. My best trip of 2013 Number 1 fan of FC Barca from Cambodia! Focus on the journey, not the destination. Joy is found not in finishing an activity but in doing it.Hurrah!!! Travelling is one of the most enjoyable experiences in my life!!! Be part of exciting moments – I was hyper that day to watch Tara who is my favorite girl group ! Their moves were so awesome! I got goose bumps to see Tara and Thai fans screamed out loud.😀 I find it very funny because I came all the long way from Battambang to Bangkok just to see Tara concert. Do you want to know something funny about my wanderlust? Most of the money I have go to travelling. I still have worn this cloth for the last six years. I rarely buy a new clothes. Looking at people around me, they have iPhone 6, expensive digital cameras. I don’t have that latest products like them! But I still happy with my life :) Buy what you need, not what you want. I need to travel monthly, if not I become a stressful and aggressive person.
I feel awesome when I get up in a nice hotel room, this is one of my big reasons for travelling. I am not bragging or anything, some ideas I used to think of, very similar to what D.H Lawrence said about 100 year ago, “But better die than live mechanically a life that is a repetition of repetitions.” Many people ponder what they should do for a vacation and I realized a lot of people don’t seem to share my views about traveling. I believe it’s very important to see the world and different cultures. It lets us open our minds to new things and we get to experience life in exiting different ways. Travelling is the only cure for my bad-temper and stress! What Is It About Travel We Love? For some, travel is a sweet plan for retirement on a boat, a house bus, with a backpack or by train. My whole life’s been geared towards it. I majored in English but I didn’t train to teach English as a foreign language which is my dream job so I could travel and get paid for it. It has not been grand. For some travel’s a dream that comes true once a year for the annual vacation. Often people yearn of a greater travel adventure like a year in dream places or selling everything and bumming off to that places. THE PEOPLE WHO SHAPED MY LIFE It’s the people you meet that make travel the rich, vibrant experience that it is. They shape our memories more than the locations themselves. They can make a bad place good, or a great place bad. They teach us about what we like or don’t like in others. They shine lights on our ignorance and teach us about ourselves. One of the main reasons why you go on a vacation is to relax. It is a time when you should be enjoying peace and quiet and getting away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Why Do People Travel? The Benefits of Traveling: My closest friend’s family. Travelling teach me many things. I am a believer in life-long learning. Love of learning is the guide of life. When I travel with my friend’s family, it is not only about having fun but also learning something. For example, I observe how my friend raises his son and how he behaves towards his wife. So I can learn from him how to be a good father and good husband.🙂 The experiences I’ve had while traveling have changed me as a person and given me a new perspective on life. I want to share that with you. Release stress: Travelling is recommended by doctors for release stress. It works for me.🙂 Getting away, even for a short period, can do wonders for your well-being. You’ll reduce your stress: Travel gives you an opportunity to relax and de-stress. It decreases burnout. Even if it’s a business trip that forces you to put in longer hours at a conference, focus on the fact that you’re in another country or city. Traveling can be stressful, especially if your trip consists of a lot of sightseeing, your meetings involve a variety of languages or your destination is a bustling metropolis. But travel stress is positive stress, not the kind of anxiety caused by work or tension related to home life. Stress reduction, however you accomplish it, is always healthy. Traveling gives us the opportunity to disconnect from our regular life. You get to forget your problems/issues for a few weeks, it can also help you figure things out that you would not have understood without the distance traveling can give you. We all have crazy schedules, work and a family to take care of, going away alone or with some friends can give you distance and perhaps even make you realize how important these people are for you. Like the saying says: we never know what we have until we lose it. Another great benefit is the relaxation you get to do. It’s nice to live life to its fullest and enjoy a stress free time with yourself. Going on vacation lets us recharge our “batteries” by disconnecting us from our regular life. When we come back we feel invigorated and we are happy to be back in our day to day routine. It’s a very good stress remover that has a lot more to give than most people are willing to accept. Traveling increases our knowledge and widens our perspective. To view new customs, different ways of living is fantastic for the mind. It gives us a new perspective about life and especially our life, it can help us change some of our habits or evencreate new ones. When I travel I usually make it a point to try new food, some cultures don’t have fries in their diet and they are all skinny, others use spices to give taste and not oils or fats. Discovering different values and ways to get by in life is really interesting. You also need to visit exotic new places and discover what this wonderful world has to offer. New experiences increase our resourcefulness by living situations you would never encounter at home, this is great experience for you when you come back to your routine. I have noticed that people who traveled a lot in life were ready to embrace change and have a natural ability of overcoming problems that others would frown upon. When traveling with friends or family it creates memories for a lifetime. These memories will create a bond that nothing can erase no matter what happens with the friendship/relationship. It can also give a new perspective on the relationship and cement the bond forever. It also gives nice stories to tell people afterwards, you can create photo albums about your trips and when you feel nostalgic you can take an hour of your life and experience the trips again by looking at your pictures. To challenge yourself To party or just to have fun: Travel is fun and lots of people travel with the sole purpose of enjoyment, wild partying or just because the funniest things happen when you’re traveling. To enjoy new experiences: What does it feel like to go upside down on a roller coaster? There is no roller coaster in my country. So I can enjoy this experience only in other countries. To find your true self: When I hang out with easy-going people, I get on well with them all the time. I don’t even have a small argument. Usually I am an easy-going person, but with difficult people, I will behave like difficult person to them. Maybe I want to teach them some lessons. For example, I just hang out with them a few times and I had some arguments. I try to think something is wrong with me. I realized that my personality is like a mirror, whatever you did in front of it, you would see it reflected back at you. When my friends yell at me, I will yell at them back. If they don’t provoke me first, I would not provoke them. Some friends like to blame me if something is wrong,I am not kind of pointing finger person who like to blame others. I just try to sort it out. I can be a very good friend if my friends are kind, honest, understanding, open-minded, forgive and not pointing finger. It takes all of these for achieving a long lasting friendship. I will get rid of the friends that bad for my life. This finding lead me to have this idea: My type of the girl (wife) have to be a very good person, so I can live with her for the rest of my life. Only that kind can bring out the best in me, and makes me a better person. The question is: It’s very hard to find that person. If I met her, she might not available. If she does, she might not return my love. I know this sound complicated but it’s true. I told my friend these problems and he said if she can return yours, but you might not get her parents’ blessing. To experience new cultures To see new things To eat new food Excursionist, rubberneck, sightseer, tripper, tourer ;)Get in style like no others! Which was the first Country I went to? The first place I went to was Thailand. I am a geography fanatic and have read much about the geography of a variety of places. this is what makes me interested in going to visit these places. I also love to go to historical places. I enjoy travelling pretty much! I like seeing those landscapes, experiencing the local life, learning about the culture. I would really like to see how people lead a life there. Experiencing another country and another kind of life are very interesting for me:) Moreover, I think it helps me to understand people and things better. I value this. My second greatest enthusiasm is philosophy. Philosophy has always been regarded as a means of discovering the secret of happiness. What really is that has the amazing power to make us happy? That gives us joy, pleasure, enormous satisfaction? I love to travel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wish I had this van-living so I could make a road trip once a month with my family or friends!🙂 I thought I needed to know what it was like out there, in a real world. So I went out there and I lived it. Peace Boat, I want to join you badly. I used to participate in Ship for Southeast Asian Youth Program. Things happen that lead to other things. And I really hope this is one of them. I have this crazy idea “When I get married my parents will give me something, if I could trade that something for participating in Peace boat, I would and I would not regret about it. I choose Peace boat over marriage. Peace boat, sail around the world for 3 months! My Dream: I would like to live in as many as different countries as possible. I should be practical, find a girl and be nice to her, take over my Parents’ business, get married and have lots of kids. heeheeh😀 I really want to promise myself this “I have to to join Peace boat before I tie the knot.” But naz I can’t promise that, what if this program is no longer available and I met the girl who can change my mind. No matter what happens, life still goes on. It’s the magic of risking everything for a dream nobody sees but me. You must take life as it comes. Sometimes hope is all you have got. After achieving my biggest dream, I want to try this. Now I just want to take a good care of my life for that dream! I am a thrill seeker, I love all things adrenaline! I am not a rich man, if I do, I would make my life as “One of the most exciting Cambodian men ever live.”
I find her life story very interested!!!!!!🙂 She is my role model. Her dreams and hobbies exactly like mine, but she is living in her dream. On other hand, I am just a daydreamer. Dream of long-term travel and living abroad. Interests in writing and photography and love of travel and learning. Quit her job as a lawyer in order to pursue her dream of long-term travel and living abroad. For me, I choose Peace boat over marriage ( sail around the world for 3 months). I’ve never been afraid of any deviation. Kimi Jackson, the Web Reporter for the 72nd Global Voyage, quit her job as a lawyer in order to pursue her dream of long-term travel and living abroad. She grew up in a log cabin in northern Minnesota, U.S.A. In college she studied Latin American studies and Spanish, and worked as a journalist for a daily newspaper in New Mexico for several years before attending law school at the University of Denver College of Law. As a lawyer she worked in the non-profit sector, representing migrant farm workers who suffered abuses on the job. She also represented university students. Since leaving the practice of law, Kimi backpacked for 8 months in South America, lived in Bolivia and worked with a non-profit organization there, traveled extensively in Asia and has lived in Japan for the past two years. On the 72nd voyage, she hopes to combine her passion for social justice issues with her interests in writing and photography and her love of travel and learning.

The bad days make the good ones better! Let’s do something fun!😀 Let’s create a memory! To a good life!😀 Would you believe me if I told you that I had only about 100USD and I could make my trip from Battambang to Bangkok? I learn how to travel like backpacker. Football match ticket = 30 USD Transportation fee from Battambang to Bangkok and back to Battambang = 40 USD Cost for food for 2 nights = 30 USD First night I stayed at my host family. Second night I sit at hotel lobby where my friend’s stay. I hadn’t travel for the last few months, that made me so stressful. But recently I have traveled and I felt so good. I realized that I need travelling. When I am a stay at home person I will sick and tired of life. Travelling is the only time I feel alive! I just got back from Phnom Penh today. A few day ago I went to Siem Reap and then Bangkok. 29.07.2011 I’m always looking forward to my next trip or adventure, wherever that may be… When you are a home person, you supposed to have no life. But for me, I have interesting life. I love reading on the Internet, writing a blog, watching awesome movie, playing video game, listening to music, and helping out in my parents’ houseshop. Here come to good part, I travel monthly and have fun with my drinking buddies. Though we tend to love our homes and th
ink of them as anchors of identity, there are also disturbing ways in which they can fix us unhelpfully to a version of ourselves we no longer wish to side with. The familiar curtains and pictures subtly insist that we should not change because they do not; our well-known rooms can anaesthetise us from a more urgent, necessary relationship with particular questions. It may not be until we have moved across an ocean, until we are in a hotel room with peculiar new furniture and a view on to a motorway and a supermarket full of products we don’t recognise, that we start to have the strength to probe at certain assumptions. We gain freedom from watching the take-offs and landings of planes in a departure lounge, When I am a stay at home person, really, I am. I mean I stay at my shophouse for almost 24 hours a day. But when it comes to travelling I make the most out of it. Making The Most Of Your Trip If you’re offered the chance to go on a business trip, take it. It will build your experience and exposure, and offer an opportunity to temporarily change your work environment. If you’re setting out on a pleasure trip, make sure you choose the right travel companion. If you’re stuck with a nagging girlfriend or a needy buddy, it might become a stressful experience, negating the potential health benefits. “Life is an ice cream, enjoy it before it melts” Are you looking to broaden your horizons about the world around you? We only get one life so we owe it to ourselves to see as much of this beautiful world as possible. For many of us, lying on a beach for two weeks each year is just not enough any more. We want to see ancient monuments, extraordinary scenery, endangered wildlife, foreign culture, architecture and art- Places that give us the chance to grow and expand our horizons. Leadership guru, John Maxwell, in his book, “The Maxwell Daily Reader”, encourages us to ask ourselves, “Are the tasks on today’s agenda worthy of your life?” What we spend our time on is what we value. Charles Spezzano speaks to the value of time. He says that people don’t pay for things with money; they pay for them with time. If you say to yourself, “In five years, I’ll have enough money to take the trip of a lifetime, then what you are really saying is that the trip will cost you five years — one-twelfth of your adult life. “The phrase spending your time is not a metaphor, “said Spezzano. “It’s how life works.” How many of you have felt that there is someplace special you belonged? Someplace you’ve connected to? Was it while walking down a path through a flower covered meadow?I have been to 10 countries and only in Hong Kong I can have a very strong sense of place. I have never felt anything like it in all my travels. Have you ever been there? Did you feel the same?
The term sense of place has been defined and used in many different ways by many different people. It is often used in relation to those characteristics that make a place special or unique, as well as to those that foster a sense of authentic human attachment and belonging. Some people develop a strong sense of place, that is, a sense of attachment and belonging to a landscape that is central to their identity. I have a strong sense of place at the beach. Do you have that sense of place? Is it a physical place, or is it a place in your heart, or is it both? Developing a sense of place Understanding how sense of place develops and changes is relevant to understanding how people interact with their environment in general and considering how this interaction may become more sustainable. For these reasons, human geographers and social psychologists have studied how a sense of place develops, including the importance of comparisons between places, learning from elders and observing natural disasters and other events. I feel most empowered, peaceful, and sane when I sleep in a hammock on the beach at a cold sultry night , listen to the roar of the ocean, then hear the quiet contrast as the tide pulls back from the shore. I can think more clearly there. I think I will feel a strong sense of place there. All the while having this sense that you belonged, wanting to be right there, nowhere else, but right there? The other place is Bangkok’s nightlife. I have spent many vacations in Bangkok. When I walk out of the airport and just feel that cooler, I feel good. And then I go and do the things I usually do -nothing special, but it just feels right. Having some food and visiting Shopping Center and going to night club. I also feel that “sense of place” on the flower covered meadow. The smell of beautiful flowers. and the colorful of them, the joy of being outside, but most of all taking photo with the flowers and having a great time. What could be better? travelling companionI always hit the road with my sweetest friend. He is my travelling and drinking companion!😀 I really only have that “sense of place” about a few places. One is on the beach. I sometimes just look around at that kind of picture and just feel so good. Not that pictures is anything special, but it is where I belong and I feel comfortable and I am a part of it. I look and think, “Life is grand.” If you have some time off I suggest to take that trip and experience what life has to offer. Don’t wait or tell yourself there will be a better time to go. Take the risk, the opportunity and buy your plane ticket right now and leave. When you come back you won’t be sorry that you left, on the contrary you will be thinking of your next trip the second you come back from the airport. “I don’t have a lot of time when I get away, usually just 3 or 4 days, so I want to get the most out of my time. As most travelers, I like to learn about the place i’m visiting and what it’s best known for. I believe in the saying “when in Rome, do as the Romans do” so I try to find unique experiences to make my trip more memorable. If you aren’t broadening your horizons and having fun – what exactly are you doing anyway?!” – Lola traveler Her passion about travelling is exactly like mine. Be a tourist in your own town The wonderful thing about going to new places is the way it opens your eyes, makes you curious and observant, surprises you, freshens your senses. But there’s no reason why your own town can’t do exactly the same thing for you. All you have to do is get out of your rut. Take turns you’ve never taken before, follow the tourists to places you’ve never been, take photographs, talk to strangers —experiment. Feel better already? Share the love You’re full of knowledge about, and passion for, the places you’ve just been — so share it. No, not with your friends — most of them don’t care. Find a community of people who are mad about your favorite places and talk them up, learn more about the destinations that thrilled you and come through with some advice for aspiring novices. What’s your favorite reason to travel? A travelling man like me really love geography! I just understood more about Latitude, Longitude, Accuracy, and Altitude. I know that I’ve traveled a lot. I would have traveled more than this if my mom does not worry about me. I would find a job that allows me to travel. ONE ASIA TOUR 2012 M Countdown Smile-Thailand is the biggest concert I’ve ever been to. 04.10.2012 After I have a great trip I feel enjoy being a stay at home person. Because exhausted trip makes me enjoy taking a good rest at home. I am looking forward to have one romantic getaway. Save The Best For Last!
