It is small victories that keep me going for the big one!

I hope that by writing this blog topic I can share a little bit about my love of travelling, and also my passion… and as well to fulfill my sense of adventure. This is one of my favorite quotes of all time “There is only one success – to spend your life in your own way.” I am so grateful for my parents because of them, I have been able to live the life I want to. How many countries have I visited?

The following words are not true but some day this will become reality “The top male solo traveler in the world, Dy Dara is smart, witty and a great story-teller that knows how to have a good time as he travels. From Asia to Europe to Central America and more, looking at his photos is almost like traveling the world with your best friend.”

My greatest enthusiasm is travelling. Travelling has been my Life! (the most important and enjoyable thing in my life) Enthusiasm = a subject or activity that interests you very much. Travel is the movement of people between relatively distant geographical locations for any purpose and any duration. This is my big problem that I will tell my future wife: “I am a Wanderlust which means a very strong desire or irresistible impulse to travel. I can spend a little money on my living but I need to take travel once a month otherwise I become a stressful and aggressive person! People think that everyone must follow the same template for life: go to school, get a stable job, get married, have kids. If you deviate, you’re, well, deviant. I’ve never been afraid of any deviation. Mr. Hardcore Traveler wants to stay Single As Long As Possible. There is only one success – to be able to spend your life in your own way. Map on the face This picture express about my wanderlust. 2014 super crazy about travellling There are 2 sides of every story, most people said to me “You are a happy man all the time” Here is another story of me! When you are focusing on one thing, you will miss another things. travellingTravelling – It’s not a hobby… It’s a way of life. you cannot Trip is a random trip for most people but for me, it is what I live for! The desire to pursue my interests and dreams. Travel is not just a hobby or vacation for some of us. Rather, it’s a lifestyle, a way of life, a reason for living, an obsession. It’s something we simply can’t live without. And so I got to wondering, being that travel is such an as-vital-as-water-and-air part of our lives, where did it this wanderlust really all begin? What moment in time did the wonderlust spark inside of us? At what point was there no turning back for us?

My proud moment

My proud moment: I will remember this moment as long as I live. Best moment becomes best memory.

My life is more interesting when I am at youth exchange program. The Trip Of A Lifetime – My Best trip so far SSEAYP, the most amazing trip I’ve had to date. I still get goosebumps, for it was one of the most enriching experiences of my life!!! I remember thinking it almost felt like I was coming up on alcohol and get high. I was giggling at everything, and was amazed and how beautiful everything was starting to look. I knew I was in for a great trip. A program that has been changing the youth’s life, vision and future, and I was lucky that I was there in 2005! I am very grateful that I have been a part of this awesome program; it gives me a great sense of pride. 🙂 It’s an honor and I will never forget it. my home in the air                                                                                 my home in the air travelMy two passions in life are traveling and photography. Maximum Fun On A Minimum Budget I learn how to travel on low budget from backpacker. When they come to Cambodia, they spend 5 buck a night at guesthouse and have bread.

Out of all my travels, this is one of my favorite photos of all time.

best d hedonist and wanderlust Dara’s motto is, “Being a hedonist is a philosophical way of my life. In other words, I like to live and behave in ways that I can get as much pleasure out of life as possible according to the belief that the most important thing in life is to enjoy oneself. Also, I like to learn, to experience and to explore life. I can do whatever I want with my life. This is my life.  But whatever I do, I just don’t step on other people’s shoes, do not spit on other people’s life and don’t force someone against his or her will. “In the end, it’s not going to matter how many breaths you took, but how many moments took your breath away.” Travelling is the only time I feel alive! “Life happens when you’re busy making other plans.” In my version “Life happens when I hit the road.” Many people called me “Firefly” which means I am always on the move. For example, in 5 days, I went to many different cities, from Battambang to Siem Reap and then I went to Bangkok after that I headed to Phnom Penh.

my best trip of 2014My best trip in six year! “Experiences are more likely to bring us together.” Says Elizabeth Dunn. A new gadget is good for a jolt of short-term happiness, but a study published in the Journal of Consumer Research found that it’s the experiential purchases – like a weekend getaway with some friends – that keep us smiling over the long run. amazing race My favorite thing is to go where I’ve never been. This trip is like The Amazing Race (a reality television game show) I took a car, airplane, motorbike, ferry, and long-tail boat to Maya Bay, Koh Phi Phi. Ya is at Maya Bay! It is worth coming all the way. I am glad I have came here. This wouldn’t have been possible without you. Thanks to you, Tiang! Maya Bay – location for the Hollywood film ‘The Beach’ My 7th trip of 2014 is the trip of the year and it is also my best trip of my recent years. Thanks to those who makes this trip so special to me! 8 nights and 9 days (12-20 April 2014) in Thailand. My journey in a nut shell. I come all the long way to see Trang Music Festival and Koh Phi Phi. I want to see Boom Boom Cash the most in Trang. That is my fav band in the whole world. I saw them at Barca match in Bangkok last year. I love Koh Phi Phi so much and I have that place in my bucket list. I buy an iPhone 5S and DSLR camera for this trip. I want to make this trip as my best memory in recent years. DSC_0674 One of my legs is not good but when it comes to travelling I can walk for the whole day and I’ll be motivated and driven. A man driven by his passion and desire. I think I travel more than average people do (I make about 20 trips a year) and I also stay at home more than average people do as well (I stay at my shophouse for 22 hours a day for 27 days out of 30 days). I have strong urge to hit the road because when I’m home, part of me is yearning for the other places I have connected to. I am sick when I stay at my shophouse all the time but when it comes to travel, it can inject me with energy and I feel alive. There was one time, I was hangover, had a few hours of sleep, vomited and I felt I have no strength at all, but when my friend needed me to drive for him. I felt I had strength when I hit the road. I could not believe myself where I got that energy. I did this for friendship and travelling. “Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness.” – Mark Twain “The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.” – St. Augustine “I never travel without my diary. One should always have something sensational to read in the train.” Oscar Wilde “Travel, in the younger sort, is a part of education; in the elder, a part of experience.” Francis Bacon “Every perfect traveler always creates the country where he travels.” – Nikos Kazantzakis You wanna hear something funny about my travelling? I am not good at doing business but when I travelled abroad, foreign governments paid everything for my trips. When I travel around Cambodia, my friends, relatives and, my parents pay everything for me. Thank you so much! 🙂 I just don’t have a chance to prove myself about this “I can be a good businessman”. When it comes to travel this is my catchphrase “Go out and make some memories!” I feel honor and gratitude to my friends and relatives who always ask me to join their trips, even though I have a little money. Where do you see yourself in 10 years? I think I am still a single man who fulfills my sense of adventure and walking somewhere in the world. travelling Cambodian Backpacker! 🙂 I leave early for my host family, even though I wanted to stay until the party’s over. I didn’t want to go to their home at late night. 20.10.2010

I want to travel like nomadic people (nomadic means they do not stay in one place for a long time). nomad 1. A member of a group of people who have no fixed home and move according to the seasons from place to place in search of food, water, and grazing land. 2. A person with no fixed residence who roams about; a wanderer. I would like to try a bohemian lifestyle someday! 🙂 In life it is not where you go – it is who you travel with! Most of the money I have go to travelling. I still have worn this cloth for the last six years. I rarely buy a new clothes. Looking at people around me, they have iPhone 6, expensive digital cameras. I don’t have that latest products like them! But I still happy with my life 🙂 Buy what you need, not what you want. I need to travel monthly, if not I become a stressful and aggressive person.

InterCon

InterContinental Hotel 31.12.2011

I feel awesome when I get up in a nice hotel room, this is one of my big reasons for travelling. I am not bragging or anything, some ideas I used to think of, very similar to what D.H Lawrence said about 100 year ago, “But better die than live mechanically a life that is a repetition of repetitions.” Many people ponder what they should do for a vacation and I realized a lot of people don’t seem to share my views about traveling. I believe it’s very important to see the world and different cultures. It lets us open our minds to new things and we get to experience life in exiting different ways. Travelling is the only cure for my bad-temper and stress! What Is It About Travel We Love? For some, travel is a sweet plan for retirement on a boat, a house bus, with a backpack or by train. My whole life’s been geared towards it. I majored in English but I didn’t train to teach English as a foreign language which is my dream job so I could travel and get paid for it. It has not been grand. For some travel’s a dream that comes true once a year for the annual vacation. Often people yearn of a greater travel adventure like a year in dream places or selling everything and bumming off to that places. THE PEOPLE WHO SHAPED MY LIFE It’s the people you meet that make travel the rich, vibrant experience that it is. They shape our memories more than the locations themselves. They can make a bad place good, or a great place bad. They teach us about what we like or don’t like in others. They shine lights on our ignorance and teach us about ourselves. One of the main reasons why you go on a vacation is to relax. It is a time when you should be enjoying peace and quiet and getting away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Why Do People Travel? The Benefits of Traveling: My closest friend’s family. Travelling teach me many things. I am a believer in life-long learning. Love of learning is the guide of life. When I travel with my friend’s family, it is not only about having fun but also learning something. For example, I observe how my friend raises his son and how he behaves towards his wife. So I can learn from him how to be a good father and good husband. 🙂 The experiences I’ve had while traveling have changed me as a person and given me a new perspective on life. I want to share that with you. Release stress: Travelling is recommended by doctors for release stress. It works for me. 🙂 Getting away, even for a short period, can do wonders for your well-being. You’ll reduce your stress: Travel gives you an opportunity to relax and de-stress. It decreases burnout. Even if it’s a business trip that forces you to put in longer hours at a conference, focus on the fact that you’re in another country or city. Traveling can be stressful, especially if your trip consists of a lot of sightseeing, your meetings involve a variety of languages or your destination is a bustling metropolis. But travel stress is positive stress, not the kind of anxiety caused by work or tension related to home life. Stress reduction, however you accomplish it, is always healthy. Traveling gives us the opportunity to disconnect from our regular life. You get to forget your problems/issues for a few weeks, it can also help you figure things out that you would not have understood without the distance traveling can give you. We all have crazy schedules, work and a family to take care of, going away alone or with some friends can give you distance and perhaps even make you realize how important these people are for you. Like the saying says: we never know what we have until we lose it. Another great benefit is the relaxation you get to do. It’s nice to live life to its fullest and enjoy a stress free time with yourself. Going on vacation lets us recharge our “batteries” by disconnecting us from our regular life. When we come back we feel invigorated and we are happy to be back in our day to day routine. It’s a very good stress remover that has a lot more to give than most people are willing to accept. Traveling increases our knowledge and widens our perspective. To view new customs, different ways of living is fantastic for the mind. It gives us a new perspective about life and especially our life, it can help us change some of our habits or evencreate new ones. When I travel I usually make it a point to try new food, some cultures don’t have fries in their diet and they are all skinny, others use spices to give taste and not oils or fats. Discovering different values and ways to get by in life is really interesting. You also need to visit exotic new places and discover what this wonderful world has to offer. New experiences increase our resourcefulness by living situations you would never encounter at home, this is great experience for you when you come back to your routine. I have noticed that people who traveled a lot in life were ready to embrace change and have a natural ability of overcoming problems that others would frown upon. When traveling with friends or family it creates memories for a lifetime. These memories will create a bond that nothing can erase no matter what happens with the friendship/relationship. It can also give a new perspective on the relationship and cement the bond forever. It also gives nice stories to tell people afterwards, you can create photo albums about your trips and when you feel nostalgic you can take an hour of your life and experience the trips again by looking at your pictures. To challenge yourself To party or just to have fun: Travel is fun and lots of people travel with the sole purpose of enjoyment, wild partying or just because the funniest things happen when you’re traveling. To enjoy new experiences: What does it feel like to go upside down on a roller coaster? There is no roller coaster in my country. So I can enjoy this experience only in other countries. To find your true self: When I hang out with easy-going people, I get on well with them all the time. I don’t even have a small argument. Usually I am an easy-going person, but with difficult people, I will behave like difficult person to them. Maybe I want to teach them some lessons. For example, I just hang out with them a few times and I had some arguments. I try to think something is wrong with me. I realized that my personality is like a mirror, whatever you did in front of it, you would see it reflected back at you. When my friends yell at me, I will yell at them back. If they don’t provoke me first, I would not provoke them. Some friends like to blame me if something is wrong,I am not kind of pointing finger person who like to blame others. I just try to sort it out. I can be a very good friend if my friends are kind, honest, understanding, open-minded, forgive and not pointing finger. It takes all of these for achieving a long lasting friendship. I will get rid of the friends that bad for my life. This finding lead me to have this idea: My type of the girl (wife) have to be a very good person, so I can live with her for the rest of my life. Only that kind can bring out the best in me, and makes me a better person. The question is: It’s very hard to find that person. If I met her, she might not available. If she does, she might not return my love. I know this sound complicated but it’s true. I told my friend these problems and he said if she can return yours, but you might not get her parents’ blessing. To experience new cultures To see new things To eat new food Excursionist, rubberneck, sightseer, tripper, tourer ;)Get in style like no others! Which was the first Country I went to? The first place I went to was Thailand. I am a geography fanatic and have read much about the geography of a variety of places. this is what makes me interested in going to visit these places. I also love to go to historical places. I enjoy travelling pretty much! I like seeing those landscapes, experiencing the local life, learning about the culture. I would really like to see how people lead a life there. Experiencing another country and another kind of life are very interesting for me:) Moreover, I think it helps me to understand people and things better. I value this. My second greatest enthusiasm is philosophy. Philosophy has always been regarded as a means of discovering the secret of happiness. What really is that has the amazing power to make us happy? That gives us joy, pleasure, enormous satisfaction? So I went out there and I lived it. cry with overjoyed Peace Boat, I want to join you badly. I used to participate in Ship for Southeast Asian Youth Program. Things happen that lead to other things. And I really hope this is one of them. I have this crazy idea “When I get married my parents will give me something, if I could trade that something for participating in Peace boat, I would and I would not regret about it. I choose Peace boat over marriage. Peace boat, sail around the world for 3 months! My Dream: I would like to live in as many as different countries as possible. I should be practical, find a girl and be nice to her, take over my Parents’ business, get married and have lots of kids. heeheeh 😀 I really want to promise myself this “I have to to join Peace boat before I tie the knot.” But naz I can’t promise that, what if this program is no longer available and I met the girl who can change my mind. No matter what happens, life still goes on. It’s the magic of risking everything for a dream nobody sees but me. You must take life as it comes. Sometimes hope is all you have got. bungee jump After achieving my biggest dream, I want to try this. Now I just want to take a good care of my life for that dream! I am a thrill seeker, I love all things adrenaline! I am not a rich man, if I do, I would make my life as “One of the most exciting Cambodian men ever live.”

Kimi Jackson

I find her life story very interested!!!!!! 🙂 She is my role model. Her dreams and hobbies exactly like mine, but she is living in her dream. On other hand, I am just a daydreamer. Dream of long-term travel and living abroad. Interests in writing and photography and love of travel and learning. Quit her job as a lawyer in order to pursue her dream of long-term travel and living abroad. For me, I choose Peace boat over marriage ( sail around the world for 3 months). I’ve never been afraid of any deviation. Kimi Jackson, the Web Reporter for the 72nd Global Voyage, quit her job as a lawyer in order to pursue her dream of long-term travel and living abroad. She grew up in a log cabin in northern Minnesota, U.S.A. In college she studied Latin American studies and Spanish, and worked as a journalist for a daily newspaper in New Mexico for several years before attending law school at the University of Denver College of Law. As a lawyer she worked in the non-profit sector, representing migrant farm workers who suffered abuses on the job. She also represented university students. Since leaving the practice of law, Kimi backpacked for 8 months in South America, lived in Bolivia and worked with a non-profit organization there, traveled extensively in Asia and has lived in Japan for the past two years. On the 72nd voyage, she hopes to combine her passion for social justice issues with her interests in writing and photography and her love of travel and learning. chelsea match

The bad days make the good ones better! Let’s do something fun! 😀 Let’s create a memory! To a good life! 😀 Would you believe me if I told you that I had only about 100USD and I could make my trip from Battambang to Bangkok? I learn how to travel like backpacker. Football match ticket = 30 USD Transportation fee from Battambang to Bangkok and back to Battambang = 40 USD Cost for food for 2 nights = 30 USD First night I stayed at my host family. Second night I sit at hotel lobby where my friend’s stay. I hadn’t travel for the last few months, that made me so stressful. But recently I have traveled and I felt so good. I realized that I need travelling. When I am a stay at home person I will sick and tired of life. Travelling is the only time I feel alive! I just got back from Phnom Penh today. A few day ago I went to Siem Reap and then Bangkok. 29.07.2011 I’m always looking forward to my next trip or adventure, wherever that may be… When you are a home person, you supposed to have no life. But for me, I have interesting life. I love reading on the Internet, writing a blog, watching awesome movie, playing video game, listening to music, and helping out in my parents’ houseshop. Here come to good part, I travel monthly and have fun with my drinking buddies. Though we tend to love our homes and th

ink of them as anchors of identity, there are also disturbing ways in which they can fix us unhelpfully to a version of ourselves we no longer wish to side with. The familiar curtains and pictures subtly insist that we should not change because they do not; our well-known rooms can anaesthetise us from a more urgent, necessary relationship with particular questions. It may not be until we have moved across an ocean, until we are in a hotel room with peculiar new furniture and a view on to a motorway and a supermarket full of products we don’t recognise, that we start to have the strength to probe at certain assumptions. We gain freedom from watching the take-offs and landings of planes in a departure lounge, When I am a stay at home person, really, I am. I mean I stay at my shophouse for almost 24 hours a day. But when it comes to travelling I make the most out of it. Making The Most Of Your Trip If you’re offered the chance to go on a business trip, take it. It will build your experience and exposure, and offer an opportunity to temporarily change your work environment. If you’re setting out on a pleasure trip, make sure you choose the right travel companion. If you’re stuck with a nagging girlfriend or a needy buddy, it might become a stressful experience, negating the potential health benefits. “Life is an ice cream, enjoy it before it melts” Are you looking to broaden your horizons about the world around you? We only get one life so we owe it to ourselves to see as much of this beautiful world as possible. For many of us, lying on a beach for two weeks each year is just not enough any more. We want to see ancient monuments, extraordinary scenery, endangered wildlife, foreign culture, architecture and art- Places that give us the chance to grow and expand our horizons. Leadership guru, John Maxwell, in his book, “The Maxwell Daily Reader”, encourages us to ask ourselves, “Are the tasks on today’s agenda worthy of your life?” What we spend our time on is what we value. Charles Spezzano speaks to the value of time. He says that people don’t pay for things with money; they pay for them with time. If you say to yourself, “In five years, I’ll have enough money to take the trip of a lifetime, then what you are really saying is that the trip will cost you five years — one-twelfth of your adult life. “The phrase spending your time is not a metaphor, “said Spezzano. “It’s how life works.” How many of you have felt that there is someplace special you belonged? Someplace you’ve connected to? Was it while walking down a path through a flower covered meadow? The Peak HDRI have been to 10 countries and only in Hong Kong I can have a very strong sense of place. I have never felt anything like it in all my travels. Have you ever been there? Did you feel the same?

koh phi phi The term sense of place has been defined and used in many different ways by many different people. It is often used in relation to those characteristics that make a place special or unique, as well as to those that foster a sense of authentic human attachment and belonging. Some people develop a strong sense of place, that is, a sense of attachment and belonging to a landscape that is central to their identity. I have a strong sense of place at the beach. Do you have that sense of place? Is it a physical place, or is it a place in your heart, or is it both? Developing a sense of place Understanding how sense of place develops and changes is relevant to understanding how people interact with their environment in general and considering how this interaction may become more sustainable. For these reasons, human geographers and social psychologists have studied how a sense of place develops, including the importance of comparisons between places, learning from elders and observing natural disasters and other events. I feel most empowered, peaceful, and sane when I sleep in a hammock on the beach at a cold sultry night , listen to the roar of the ocean, then hear the quiet contrast as the tide pulls back from the shore. I can think more clearly there. I think I will feel a strong sense of place there. All the while having this sense that you belonged, wanting to be right there, nowhere else, but right there? The other place is Bangkok’s nightlife. I have spent many vacations in Bangkok. When I walk out of the airport and just feel that cooler, I feel good. And then I go and do the things I usually do -nothing special, but it just feels right. Having some food and visiting Shopping Center and going to night club. I also feel that “sense of place” on the flower covered meadow. The smell of beautiful flowers. and the colorful of them, the joy of being outside, but most of all taking photo with the flowers and having a great time. What could be better? travelling companionI always hit the road with my sweetest friend. He is my travelling and drinking companion! 😀 I really only have that “sense of place” about a few places. One is on the beach. I sometimes just look around at that kind of picture and just feel so good. Not that pictures is anything special, but it is where I belong and I feel comfortable and I am a part of it. I look and think, “Life is grand.” If you have some time off I suggest to take that trip and experience what life has to offer. Don’t wait or tell yourself there will be a better time to go. Take the risk, the opportunity and buy your plane ticket right now and leave. When you come back you won’t be sorry that you left, on the contrary you will be thinking of your next trip the second you come back from the airport. “I don’t have a lot of time when I get away, usually just 3 or 4 days, so I want to get the most out of my time. As most travelers, I like to learn about the place i’m visiting and what it’s best known for. I believe in the saying “when in Rome, do as the Romans do” so I try to find unique experiences to make my trip more memorable. If you aren’t broadening your horizons and having fun – what exactly are you doing anyway?!” – Lola traveler Her passion about travelling is exactly like mine. Be a tourist in your own town The wonderful thing about going to new places is the way it opens your eyes, makes you curious and observant, surprises you, freshens your senses. But there’s no reason why your own town can’t do exactly the same thing for you. All you have to do is get out of your rut. Take turns you’ve never taken before, follow the tourists to places you’ve never been, take photographs, talk to strangers —experiment. Feel better already? Share the love You’re full of knowledge about, and passion for, the places you’ve just been — so share it. No, not with your friends — most of them don’t care. Love Knows No Boundaries

I publish it especially for my dream girl’s birthday! 🙂 I was really excited by just the thought of the pictures and the words I wanted to include here! 😀

About 20 years ago today, one of the most beautiful women gave birth to the most wonderful woman I have ever known.

To her I say: Thanks. Thanks for raising such a wonderful, caring, sensitive, and strong woman. Thanks for teaching her what’s right and what’s wrong. Thanks for showing her that love and affection are wonderful things to have and to give in life.

To my special friend I say: Happy Birthday to you, my dream girl! I’m so glad you were born, because you brighten my life and fill it with joy. You are the perfect girl I have ever met. I love you more than yesterday, but not as much as tomorrow! You are always in my mind and in my heart. You are very charismatic, beautiful, smart, talented, and seems almost the most ideal female.  I’ve always liked you! Do you have any idea how much I like you?

This novel is also dedicated to Suon Sopheaktra and Thul Thavry! Thank you so much for correcting my grammatical errors. It’s very kind of you to help me in this matter. I couldn’t have done it without you! You saved my day. I appreciate that 😀

I only have my heart as a gift for you, do you want it? If you don’t want my heart and then throw it away. But I want to tell you something, the one who get hurt is not me, but you! You know why? Because you are in my♥heart! 😀

She is the most amazing woman I have ever met. យើស! គីង្គក់ចង់ស៊ីសាច់ក្ងានសួគ៌ផងយើង អស់សំណើចខ្លួនឯង

My dream almost come true this year: I had enough budget to visit South Korea but because of one thing I cancelled my trip. And I bought this MacBook Pro. She does not know how much one date with her mean to me. I think that is not too much to ask for! Just for one and for all.
That would mean the world to me. 03-Sep-2012

The author’s point of view: It’s a valuable piece of work for me, the time and the thought I spent writing this story. I hope she will understand my sincere appreciation to her. She is the perfect girl I’ve ever met. After the many hours that I’ve put into it, it will surely remind me that I’ll forever keep her in my memory. Something that means a lot to me means nothing to others.

Remember, those whose lives you have touched and who have touched yours are always a part of you! Real example: This happen to me all the time, when I am half way drunk the beautiful smile picture of my dream girl come to my mind but when I wake up in the middle of the night and I am sick I miss my ex lover who used to come to take care me! 😀

I just want you to know how I am feeling about you. I didn’t expect anything from you. “Expect Nothing And You Won’t Be Disappointed.” This is what I always keep in my mind. I just learned this saying “You can win life by all means..Yes..If you simply avoid two things…
1. Comparing – with others 2. Expecting – from other  Life will be more beautiful!!” Oh, but I still have one favor to ask you, “one date” If you ignore this again, it’s ok, I used to that. 😀 I am good at seeing the humor on my hurtful situations.

It’s more than a novel to me! 😀

I know this is not a novel! I am a man who likes to play by my own rules. If there is no rules then Dara’s rules. I want to have the strength of a lion and the soul of a poet. I hope I am on my way to have these things. hehehe just kidding! Judge me all you want, but keep the verdict to yourself. :P “Wise men may not be learned; learned men may not be wise” I think this saying is also apply to poets and novelists!

This is my first fiction romance novel. A story based on true events and true feelings! 😀

Writer, know the story. You can write to discover the story, or you can discover the story and then write it. I’ve done it both ways!

This story is about the man who has one-sided love and he is so obsessed with his dream girl. A Cambodian man falls in love with his foreign friend. He believes a friend can turn into a lover. It sounds impossible to the one who never try. Don’t wait until it’s too late to tell someone how much you love, how much you care. Because when they’re gone, no matter how loud you shout and cry, they won’t hear you anymore. There is no going back. Try it! If you don’t try, you’ll never know.

I’m not sure whether to tell her or not. I’m hesitating even as I write this novel.

Written By: Dy Dara

To read require patience! I hope you enjoy reading this novel! 😀

From my experience I can tell you this “Every time I was with my ex-lover, in that moment it was as if we became one person.  I had the most incredible time with her, I really had.  The day that I was with her it’s like the greatest day of my life! Best feeling in the world! 🙂 I am sure that is my ultimate pleasure. I’m proud of that.”

Do you know what love is?
It’s a kind of feeling. Lovers would share the same thought, and miss each other. Share sorrow and happiness, and keep the others in mind. That’s love.

A great relationship is when you feel completely at home with another person. You can talk to them about anything and you don’t need to always be kissing them to feel happy and where you can be more yourself. You can see your future through him or her. It’s comfortable to be around your lover. They bring out the best in you, and make you a better person.

“Love is like heaven but hurts like hell.”

“Real tears are not those that fall from the eyes and cover the face but are those that fall from the heart and cover the soul.”

★In term of friendship nothing beats drinking with the best buddies and talking about our old days. It’s so great.

♥In relationship nothing beat this: It’s amazingly sweet and mesmerizing!

I love you very much, probably more than anybody could love another person. You are the fire that burns the passion within my soul.

Love Knows No Boundaries: Part 1

Hankuk University of Foreign Studies

There is a story behind this picture! Who can tell me after reading this story in one sentence which is best describe author’s idea.

To me: That person is in South Korea! 🙂 I met her once and I really want to meet her again! 🙂

If you’ve ever read this saying “A man can love a million girls, but only real man who can love one girl in a million ways” then you’ll know how the man feels. He loves one girl, he loves her with all his heart and love everything about her, the way she smiles, the way she walks, the way she talks and even when she ignores him, he still likes her.

Have you ever heard about love moves in mysterious ways? or love happens when you least expect it? It happened to the man in this story.

“Not a day goes by I don’t think about two people and two journeys! The two people are my ex-lover and the girl of my dreams. And the journeys are SSEAYP and peace boat, the journey in my dreams. The ex-lover and SSEAYP are the past which can’t come back, but you know, in life, the first act, always exciting. The girl of my dreams and the journey in my dreams are just the dreams. But these dreams give me smile and hope!” the obsessed man said happily.

Lee is a small-town boy who knows what he wants and knows how to get it. He always get what he wants. However, throughout the remarkable journey of his life, Lee never forgets June, his dream girl. He cannot make her love him back! But she always lives in his heart.

The story begins on the day when two fellow of youth camp, Lee and June, two good friends, were grouped together on a bus going somewhere. They don’t have anything much in common. The man is very extrovert and the girl is more of discreet and very decent girl. Love is funny, isn’t it? They participated in Youth Camp for Asia’s Future 2008 in South Korea. It was where the man first met June and it was immediately clear to him that she was a great woman. He never knows that Pinay girl were up to this beautiful. Lee was a participant who represents Cambodian youth and June was from Philippines. They didn’t meet each other often during the program but she still impressed him the most out of Youth Camp girls by her beauty and personality. “Our meeting was coincidence or fate, I was not sure about that but I meet hundreds of people, and none of them really touch me. And then I meet you, I have a very strong feeling for you. Our meeting is just one small thing in a big world but just the fact that we met is a miracle!” Lee had this feeling

The man thought of her “To me, June is very charismatic, majestic (beautiful, powerful or causing great admiration and respect), beautiful, smart, talented, seems almost the most ideal female and whatever that is perfect can describe her. You know why I used the word almost here because it’s one-sided love and she does not return my love! What a loser! 😀

I also tried to forget her with these ideas “There are more than one girl in the world! Women fill up half of this world. She’s not the only one! There are so many of them” and  “Life is too short to spend it pining for someone who doesn’t see you as the great person you are. There are those out there who will. I am a resilient man – I won’t be unhappy for long. Just give me a couple of days and I can get over almost anything.” No matter what I think of, I just cannot forget you. I know that I could never find that feeling with anyone other than you. This lyric reflects the man’s love,

“Love you, only if you knew: I don’t understand why it must be you to be the one in my heart? I have met many people but it must be you eventually who are in my heart. Love is not a coincidence, love can connect you with me. There’s only heart that knows who is the one in my dream. You’re the one I’ve been waiting, because the heart is begging. Cause the heart is calling for, born to be your forever. It’s because my heart never confused. It’s certain that you are the only one. There are not many reasons. It just my heart chooses you.”

Whenever I listen to any song I think about you, every song reminds me of your beautiful smile… your picture come to my mind from the bottom of my heart to the depths of my soul! You are also under my skin, and crawling deeper every day! 🙂

“Time decides whom you meet in life. Your heart decides whom you want in life. but your behavior decides who will stay in your life.”

Click on the picture to see the topic called “How to be a sweet person”

She is truly a sweet person. Other qualities she has that make her an outstanding woman. She not only has the outer beauty but also has the inner beauty. I like the way she treats people nicely. “One thing I love the most about youth camp is know her. It is my honor to know you, June. With lots of♥love and hopes to a long lasting friendship. You are always in my mind and in my heart. I’m glad to have you! Just wanted to remind you how special you are!” From your public admirer! Former Secret Admirer,” he concluded about the program.

Lee’s life is very interesting when he is on youth exchange program. Youth is a once in a lifetime gift, make it memorable and meaningful which means we should make memorable fun, memorable achievement and at the same time make a meaningful contribution to the world. Youth Camp for Asia’s future is the second best program after SSEAYP but he likes his fellas AYC more because he met one perfect girl.  He said “I am very grateful that I have been a part of these two awesome programs; it gives me a great sense of pride.  SSEAYP shaped my interest in patriotism, volunteer, culture, share and contribute to society. Without SSEAYP, I don’t know what my life would be. It was the opportunity of a lifetime.” Because of these programs he spent six months to work in poor communities. Every coin has two sides. In other words, there are two sides of every story. Lee is not that great, he is both of greedy taker of life and generous volunteer of life. Lee’s motto is, “Being a hedonist is a philosophical way of my life which means I like to live and behave in ways that I can get as much pleasure out of life as possible according to the belief that the most important thing in life is to enjoy yourself. Also, I like to learn, to experience and to explore life. I just wanna live my life to the fullest. nothing more, nothing less. Lee’s Endless Party! 😀 Never stop the party. I am a party person looking for a good time. Life is filled with pretty things, enjoy them!”

After returning to their respective countries, they keep in touch on the Internet but not often. When the man chatted with her, he really loved the way she expressed her ideas. By doing so the man started to like her more and more. Usually, he didn’t chat or comment with her because he thought that would annoy her. But he did check her Facebook photos all the time.

Memory is a way of holding on to the things you love, the things you are, the things you never want to lose.

Lee tagged June in this picture and she wrote, “I remember when we were on a bus going somewhere… I was sitting beside Jayson and you were sitting right next to the other Lee (How is he?? The guy who studied law…) and you told us you had been to the Philippines… to Parañaque to be exact, and some parts of Metro Manila I believe… And then you played back a duet by Kristine Hermosa and Jericho Rosales from your phone which Jayson and I had never heard before… Remember??? Hehe!”

The man replied, “Yeah absolutely I remember that. It’s actually our first conversation that ever took place.Oh yeah other Lee I dun no abt him. Yeah u got a good memory, June :) and that time you gave me one piece of small cake and we talked about your face, and I said, “You dun look like truly Pinay.hahahah !:)” It is nice to revise our memory and can be fun as well !Ha hahaha:)”

She responded, “Oh I don’t remember the cake part! Hahaha! =D”

The man tagged the girl in this picture and she wrote, “I think you have a great passion for life and you just can’t hold it in.. You can’t contain it so you share what you know about life to as many people as possible through your blogs… You are a people person… always trying to connect with those who happen to cross your path. :D

The man replied, “Wow, you really know me. I’m impressed with your words here. Yeah I like to share! :D “Happiness always looks small when we hold it in our hands but when we learn to share it, we realize how big and precious it is!” I don’t think I am really a people person. Miss you, take care, June :) From Your Secret Admirer! PS: Don’t Feel Embarrassed by my words here, ok?”, he added this comment, “You are really an understanding person! :D You have many talented. That’s amazing. Any other hidden talents I should know about?:D”

On social network, the man tried to ask the girl many times about one date. “I was really excited by just the thought of us having dinner together.” He would like to have one dinner and go to cinema together. He asked his dream girl just for once and for all. The girl did not response to his wish. “Can you do this for a friend, ok? Is it too much to ask for? You’ll learn to love me if you give me one chance it’s like you give yourself one chance as well! ” He tried to convince her.

I’m absolutely head over heels for♥you! Finally, the girl was tagged in this picture! Words attach human’s mind strongly. You rarely say a word to me but when you do it does make me feel love, hurt, and warm! 😀

Lee! It just didn’t. We’re better off as friends, anyway. Besides, I didn’t really think l could…fall in love with someone like you. That’s why..

Boy: Why not? I mean, I’m kinda perfect. No seriously June, what’s wrong with me?

Girl: There’s nothing wrong with you… Lee, I don’t want to talk about this. You’ll feel bad..

Why would I feel bad? It’s not as if l’m in love with you! Come on, we can talk about this..

Ok!

I think.. you’re still a kid. A bit immature.. childish. You’re just not what l’m looking for.

Ok, this is going to be fun! What are you looking for, June?

I guess someone who is independent, for starters, someone with a career, a goal in life. Somebody I can relate to. In short, a MAN.. not a boy!

Basically, the exact opposite of me!

Basically.. You’re the wrong profile for me, Lee.

Actually, you’re right. I’m too young for you. You should go out with someone your own age.

An illness related to love… Various symptoms, including nausea, dizziness and insomnia.
Can get serious very quickly and has been known to be deadly! 😦 Almost throwing up blood on my keyboard in anticipation of getting comment from you. 😦

Warning: People with weak heart do not watch this video!  May cause heart attack!

June commented after watching it: I hated you for a few minutes, Lee! I knew it. I watched it alone in my dorm! 😀

Lee always remember all of June’s comments!

Lee: Hehehehe I got you!:P Sorry! Did you love me for a few minutes when I tagged you in a very good video? Hehehe 😛

The best touching video: A letter from Mom and Dad

The man came across this quote, and it inspired him. No offense to anybody out there! “Women are like apples on trees, the best ones are on the top of the tree. The men don’t want to reach for the good ones, because they are afraid of falling and don’t want to get hurt. Instead, they just get the rotten apples from the ground that is not so good but easy. So, the apples at the top think something is wrong with them, when in reality they are amazing. They just have to wait for the right man to come along, the one who’s brave enough to climb all the way to the top because they value quality.”

He has been secretly in love with her for 3 years and one day he realized that he had very strong feelings for her that he won’t be able to hide and he didn’t want to hold it in. He would like to talk about it and smile at what was on his mind. He wrote an article on his blog describing his affection for her “You are and will always live in my heart.” He hasn’t had a girlfriend for the last few years. He didn’t have any girlfriend nor does time for any romance but he had one girl that lived in his♥heart.

The obsessed man had her photo stick into his room wall and sometimes he looked at the picture and asked “Where can I find a Cambodian girl who has that kind of personality?” As his love grows days from days, his dream girl became his dream wife. Lee had a rebellious attitude, so he thought “Only that kind of woman could bring out the best in me, and makes me a better person. And I could live with her for the rest of my life” “We would make an adorable couple.” He smiled
He thought “To marry someone you love and have a happy married life is like hitting the jackpot!”

“I’ve always been obsessed with my dream girl” This sentence is always on his mind. One day the man came up with this idea: Lee tried to find South Korea short courses scholarship; he wanted that scholarship was just to get closer to her. But he could not find it on the Internet. So he came up with another idea. The man’s greatest enthusiasm is travelling. He saves up his money every day for his monthly trip. He has not had travelled for six months and he saved enough money to buy an air ticket to visit her. He is from Cambodia which is a developing country, so it is so hard to get South Korea visa. He tried all his best to get it. When he arrived in South Korea, the first place he went to was Hankuk University of Foreign Studies. He was waiting for her outside of the university with his excited face, and without letting her knows his presence. He will also prepare himself for the disappointing moment, if the girl ignored him when she sees him. He is still happy to see her from a distance.

To Be Continued

Do you want to read part 2? If yes, then buy me an air ticket and get me South Korea visa. I will tell you about part 2 of this story. Hehehehehh just kidding! 😀

(The fact behind this story: The author posted a link of this story on the girl’s Facebook’s wall but she deleted it immediately after the man shared. He is deeply disappointed, but he is not mad at her. He knows that she is a very decent girl, so what he has done is embarrassing and annoys her. I am truly sorry, and please don’t hate me. If it was a mistake, it was just a mistake of enthusiasm. I cannot believe myself, I am a real easy-going person but I could get hurt easily by that thing. Maybe I attached too much important to her. I keep coming back to Facebook because of one person and now she finds me annoying. So Facebook is no longer important to me. I will leave it for good. The longest time I could deactivate from FB was about 2 and half months. I used to say that I will activate my FB on special occasion like X-mas and New Year, but now I changed my mind. I’ve had enough of it! 😦 )

I wish this novel makes into a Thai movie. It’s kind of romance comedy movie. I want to bring this back into life. I could add some comedy scenes to make this project more interesting. There are three videos here as an example of fun moments. Check it out!

I opened that window a few times when I heard that sound and then I went back to sleep. Later, I found out that port authority allows cruise ship to embark at this port only after 6 AM.

“Dy Dara, the first man from Cambodia, to sail around the world” How cool is that? In 2020, I will sell one piece of my lands to join PB. Those who risk nothing, do nothing; have nothing & become nothing. It’s the magic of risking everything for a dream that nobody sees but me.

Today, 14th March 2011, is the 1th anniversary of my blog.

Happy 1th Birthday to this! 😀

This is year #2! It’s been 1 year since I once sat down and thought “sharing interesting and useful topics and my life story.” 🙂 Blog Stats = 9,686 hits For the first year! 😀 I am so happy with this number. Super Excited! 😀 With my blog originally intended for me to just share my thoughts of what I’ve recently read, A place where I talk about my life and share interesting and useful topics, it’s grown into something much more. Because of my blog I’ve learned a lot things about human behavior and things happen for a reason. Because of my writing and sharing, I get many compliments. To some people, it’s just words on a piece of screen. But it’s more than just words. To me it means a lot. It’s awesome to feel appreciated!:) Have You Ever Wondered Why people act the way they do or you behave as you behave? Everyone behaves the way that they do because they are acting through a filter of the rocks (values, assumptions, beliefs, and expectations) that they carry around. Click here to see this interesting topic @ https://dydara.wordpress.com/2010/11/26/self-awareness-is-the-key-to-change-and-lasting-happiness/

Travelling is the only time I feel alive! :DI have a great passion for life! :)

There are a lot of problems with living a life designed to fit everyone else’s expectations of you, though. The top three, as I see it, are: .You can’t please everyone .Their expectations may be based on a narrow, inaccurate view of you .Your values could be wildly different from theirs. This is the first topic for the writing part of my second year of blogging as a hobby. Would love to hear your thoughts about it in the comments. :) Thanks! Not a day goes by I don’t think about you, Peace boat.

I wonder about how many Cambodian people have sailed around the world. If I can’t be the first person from Cambodia. At least I could be in that club one day. That’s my life ambition. It’s the magic of risking everything for a dream nobody sees but you. Sometimes hope is all you have got. I say this to myself “In 10 years, I’ll have enough money to take the trip of a lifetime.” 09.10.2011

This is a unique opportunity to fulfill my sense of adventure and at the same time make a meaningful contribution to the world. 🙂

I heard about Peace boat on 30.01.2011, I want to join this awesome program. This is just a dream. Maybe the dream is what it’s all about, one of the important words for me. I was a little boy with a little dream that came true, not so little, by the way. The desire to pursue my interests and dreams. I wish one day my dream will come true! 😀 What I am about to say sounds so crazy. I would choose Peace boat over my marriage life. Peace boat, sail around the world for 3 months! I am sick all the time and I thought if I had cancer or any diseases which need a lot of money to cure it I don’t need that I would use that money to achieve my dying wish “Peace Boat” I would not die with eyes open. My Dream: I would like to live in as many as different countries as possible. I should be practical, find a girl and be nice to her, take over my Parents’ business, get married and have lots of kids. heeheeh 😀

(Just undated) I have this crazy idea “When I get married my parents will give me something, if I could trade that something for participating in Peace boat, I would and I would not regret about it. I choose Peace boat over marriage. Peace boat, sail around the world for 3 months! 🙂 02.05.2011

I really want to promise myself this “I have to to join Peace boat before I tie the knot.” But naz I can’t promise that, what if this program is no longer available or I met the girl who can change my mind.

“He’d trained his entire life for one purpose, to be the greatest swordsman in the history of mankind. He’d just achieved his life ambition.” From The Warrior’s Way movie,  the words is so impressive. I can relate these words to this topic “I want to spend 10 years for saving money for this trip and to join it is my life ambition.”

“It’s how life works.”

I would say this when I start the trip “It’s like I’ve been living my whole life for this moment.” I would take a video and say “This is where I start my trip! :)” and when I get back here I would make another video and say “This is where my journey end.”

For some travel’s a dream that comes true once a year for the annual vacation. Often people yearn of a greater travel adventure like a year in dream places or selling everything and bumming off to that places. Maybe I am one of those people. I am packing for the trip of my lifetime. I hope one day I can write this for real. I say to myself: “In 9 years (2020), if I cannot save enough money to take the trip of a lifetime I would sell one of my homes or lands to make it happen (On one condition of I am still single). It’s the magic of risking everything for a dream nobody sees but me. I think I’d rather have the amazing life with a tragic end. Because what’s life without risks? I wouldn’t want to hold back or not do amazing things just because of what might happen. 04.11.2011  Don’t be a person who wants so much without making any sacrifices!

No matter what happenslife still goes on. You must take life as it comes. Sometimes hope is all you have got.

Not a day goes by I don’t think about two people and two journeys! The two people are my ex-lover and the girl of my dreams. And the journeys are SSEAYP and peace boat, the journey in my dreams. The ex-lover and SSEAYP are the past which can not come back, but you know, in life, the first act, always exciting. The girl of my dreams and the journey in my dreams are just the dreams. But these dreams give me smile and hope! 🙂 03.05.2011

See the world with your own eyes! 😀

I used to participate in Ship for Southeast Asian Youth Program. Things happen that lead to other things. And I hope this is one of them. 😀

Peace Boat is a Japan-based international non-governmental and non-profit organization that works to promote peace, human rights, equal and sustainable development and respect for the environment. Peace Boat seeks to create awareness and action based on effecting positive social and political change in the world. We pursue this through the organization of global educational programmes, responsible travel, cooperative projects and advocacy activities. These activities are carried out on a partnership basis with other civil society organizations and communities in Japan, Northeast Asia, and around the world. Peace Boat carries out its main activities through a chartered passenger ship that travels the world on peace voyages. The ship creates a neutral, mobile space and enables people to engage across borders in dialogue and mutual cooperation at sea, and in the ports that we visit. Activities based in Japan and Northeast Asia are carried out from our seven Peace Centers in Japan.

Peace Boat carries out its main activities through a chartered passenger ship that travels the world on peace voyages Peace Boat carries out its main activities through a chartered passenger ship that travels the world on peace voyages. Three Global Voyages and one short Asian regional voyage are usually organized each year. The three-month Global Voyages are each joined by around 800 participants and visit between 15-20 countries. Peace Boat’s 72nd Global Peace Voyage departed from Yokohama on January 23 , 2011 and will visit 19 ports in 17 countries around the world, through the Pacific, Latin America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia. The voyage will return to Japan 86 days after its departure, on April 18, 2011.

Tsunami hits Japan (11 March 2011) made me want to know where Peace boat was, according to voyage itenerary, she was at Casablanca, Morocco.

Look at the map, it shows the Earth is round, travelling eastward around the globe. Start from Japan travel eastward to Peru and continue the trip until it will return to Japan. ! 😀

  • It is best to sail from east to west to have the wind at your back.

Long A trip from one Pole to the other, and back again on the other side, would technically be a circumnavigation. Circumnavigation to be a passage of at least 21,600 nautical miles (40,000 km) in length which crosses the equator, crosses every meridian and finishes in the same port as it starts. A meridian (or line of longitude) is the half of an imaginary great circle on the Earth’s surface, terminated by the North Pole and the South Pole, connecting points of equal longitude. The position of a point along the meridian is given by its latitude. Each meridian is perpendicular to all circles of latitude. Each is also the same size, being half of a great circle on the Earth’s surface and therefore measuring 20,003.93 km (12,429.9 miles). I just realized about this 1 Nautical mile = 1.852 kilometer 1 Mile = 1.60934 kilometer

hose

From this scene I can understand about “high-pressure water hoses”

This news does not make me give up my biggest dream. Sometime during the week between 3 and 9 May 2010, Peace Boat came under attack by Somali pirates while off the coast of Yemen. The ship was attacked by grenades, but managed to avoid being boarded by adopting zig-zag manoeuvres and blasting the pirates with high-pressure water hoses. Reportedly the pirates were subsequently apprehended by NATO forces. Can you believe that in the past 4 years, the Peace Boat has been attacked twice by pirates in this area near Somalia. Apparently once the PB was fired at by the pirates, but the captain veered at full speed in the other direction and got away. Another time the PB was surrounded by about 20 small pirate boats, and they had to get a warship from another country to rescue the boat!! horn of Africa PB must pass horn of Africa (Somali pirates are always here) in order to complete a trip of sailing around the world. This is the most dangerous part of the trip.

This video is dedicated to everyone that I know. Thank you so much for everything that you guys have done for me. It is my honor to know you guys. With lots of  love and hopes to a long lasting friendship to those that value my friendship. You are in my mind and in my heart. I’m Glad to have you! Just wanted to remind you how special you are!.
You guys are one of the best gifts that ever happened to my life. I’m proud of that.
When I have decided to do something, I put my all into it. It’s a valuable piece of work for me, the time and thought I spent to make this video with a romantic song. My hope is that my video clip, after the many hours that I’ve put into it, will reminds me of everyone that I know and keep them in my memory. This topic is dedicated to my lovely parents. Thank you so much for everything that my parents have done for me. Thanks for being such a wonderful parents for me. I have been taught and energised, and they have touched my heart. I’m proud of that. Thanks to my parents who have done many good things to me and have added value to me. I gratitude and appreciate my parents. I would like to express my deepest gratitude and appreciation towards my parents, who forebear pain and discomfort in bringing me up to adulthood. This is my sincere appreciation. I am so proud of my parents. Because of them, I have been able to live the life I want to. My Parents, My Hero and My God: The most special people in my life! My Parents are the best gifts that ever happened to my life. Thanks my parents so much, I’ll be eternally grateful. 🙂

This blog contains all types of information which I received from searching on the Internet, reading books, watching movies, listening songs , learning from my friends, relatives, my point of view and what I’ve learned, heard, seen, done, experienced etc .

If I came across anything in my reading that I wished to remember I would write it down on paper, in my phone, or on my laptop.

The thing I love about writing a blog is that it allows me to talk to many people I will never personally meet.

I had a passion to add value to what people have taught me and energized me to write. I have written about this topic it is not about showing off, impressing anyone, or trying to be pathetic. You might be wondering why I am so passionate about this topic It’s about remembering what my friends, relatives and my parents have done for me, Sharing my own personal experiences and I want to learn how to put how I feel into English words.

When I have decided to do something, I put my all into it. It’s a valuable piece of work for me, the time and thought I spent to write it. I want to Make it happen!

My hope is that this life story, after the many hours that I’ve put into it, will inspire you and help you to tell the story of your life…. a story that no one else in the entire world is more qualified to tell than you!Make it happen!

I’m more of doing whatever I want with my life, this is my life. But sometimes I have to give up my dreams for the ones I love the most, my parents. My Dreams: I would like to live in as many as different countries as possible. I just can’t leave my parents alone. I have traveled too much. What else would I ask for! 🙂

At first I wrote a topic about “showing some love “ and that inspired me to write about this topic “I am so proud of my parents. Because of them, I have been able to live the life I want to”. And that led me to write my autobiography. So here I am writing my autobiography. I have written 21 pages at this writing ” My autobiography by Dy Dara “seems to be showing off and my bad side so I don’t want to publish.

It’s my opinion that any worthwhile autobiography will also include details about these individuals that were so close to me. It will tell of my interactions with them and how they had influence on my life.

In here I just focus on my main topic is “ I am so proud of my parents. Because of them, I have been able to live the life I want to.”

When you read the whole story you will understand the message I want to convey.

I think this topic is the most important topic out of all the topics I’ve written, because it is about my most wonderful memories of my parents and the journey of my life. I have spent many days writing it even when I didn’t feel well and I still have strong desire to write it, I asked many friends to correct my grammatical errors. Thank you so much you guys.

Before, I tell you about how proud I am of my parents and a chapter of my life. I would like to introduce myself!

Loving life: You only live once, but if you work it right, once is enough.

You only live once, but if you work it right, once is enough.

Life is wonderful! :)
Why? there are so many reasons that I and you can think of that makes our life wonderful. For me I am so blessed to have my lovely parents and I’m so grateful for the family and so many friends that love me and care about. :)

Any change, any loss, does not make us victims.
Others can shake you, surprise you or disappoint you.
But they can’t prevent you from moving on. No matter where you are in life, no matter what your situation, you can always do something. On every turn of life, you will always have a choice. And that choice can be your power. The choice is always in our own hands!

I think I was born in the wrong body because the way I think and behave is like Western people. But it doesn’t mean I don’t proud of my parents. I am most proud of my♥parents and I’m so proud to be Cambodian★

I had been raised on a philosophy of non-violence. I don’t know how some people were raised, but my family never used physical force. My parents give me freedom. When I can read and better understand English, I feel gratitude for my parents’ support. And even I work for them, they don’t pressure me and I have more time to read on the Internet and to write for my blog.

My name is Dy Dara. I am 27 years old. I do not wish to be any other age because my life at 13 was nowhere as exciting and enjoyable as my life at 27. I enjoy every aspect of life. I am the kind of man who has a thousand different kinds of men in one body, so that makes me not so boring. The difference makes the world beautiful. It means that everyone is unique in his/her own way and don’t look down on someone who is different from you.

I really don’t know how to express myself. Well, you have no idea what I am capable of! Hehehehe 🙂 just kidding. I just act tough and that’s how I got through everything 🙂 I am a happy man in a happy world. Everything is depending on the way you think it, if I think I am the one of the happiest men on earth, I am. Resilient can describe my personality. I won’t be unhappy for long. The special phrases I use is

“When you are happy, you live a day. When you are not, you still live one day. Why don’t we make that day a happy day!”

I am easy-going who is relaxed and not easily upset or worried. I am also outgoing who is friendly and energetic and finding it easy and enjoyable to be with others.

I am a simple man, who wants simple things in life. Usually, I like to wear casual clothes. I don’t want anything fancy. Simple the best!

It is not too much to ask for, right?

Am I to live the life of the unknown and search for the known? Or am I to live the known and search for the unknown? “Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.” I am searching for the real meaning of life. I am not a flawless man. The way I think and the way I behave may be weird or look bad to you. But I am a man who doesn’t want to spit on anyone’s life. I think I am a fashionable person. But I am not become too concerned with material matters, but instead place immeasurable value on the goodness in your heart. Beauty only gets attention but personality captures the ♥heart ♥ . I am the kind of man who has one bad thing but have other condition that is good. For example I am wild as long as I do not step on other people shoes, as long as I do not spit on other people’s life. I know may be this is my excuse 🙂 Sometimes it’s right to do the wrong things.

And despite all this little controversy that I have with my personality, I still remain to be a Simple man. My friends know me as a happy person in the outside but actually I’m troubled in the inside sometimes. Often, I am mistakenly judged by people who don’t know me personally. They find me snooty.  but if they’re going to know me personally, they’ll find Me completely the opposite. I feel that people get different first impression of me. Sometimes, they find me unfriendly but sometime they find me very friendly. Sometimes, I’m a joker if I’m in the mood to crack some jokes. Hedonist can describe my personality = living and behaving in ways that mean you get as much pleasure out of life as possible, according to the belief that the most important thing in life is to enjoy yourself. I also want to learn, experience and explore life. From my point of view someone who is easy-going, their tendency seem to be kind, helpful , friendly concern other feeling, funny. Unfriendly person, their tendency seem to be less kind, less helpful and more unconcerned about other people’s feelings. It is like one set.

I have a hard time with lies and liars, and I think that it’s because of my nature to trust too easily and too quickly. As a result of this, I frequently find myself encountering people who lie as easily as they breathe. I find this to be a deplorable trait as what is the point in trying to have a relationship of any kind if it is not based on truths that are shared? Too many people in this world get by on façades which they hide behind, never letting anyone see beyond the persona they have created.

I am one of those people who can be very lonely if a loved one is away, or I can relish the time alone in the peace and quiet. It really depends upon the circumstances, as in exactly how long I am going to be alone and why. I do not equate being alone with loneliness. Sometimes, it is very nice to spend time alone; while other times, it is boring.

I am a believer in life-long learning. Love of learning is the guide of life

When I have a bad time I think ” when I am having a good time, time is flying or I think true meaning of life is every aspect of life”. Learn to view everything as a worthwhile experience. Chalk it up to experience. When I talk about life I will think of “When you are happy, you live a day. When you are not, you still live one day. Why don’t we make that day a happy day!”

When I encounter difficulties in my life I’ll always think of this special phrase “no matter how hard it is that time will pass. In others words, It is not the end of the world.

In my life story here you will see many quotations. You can say I am crazy about them or you can say it is boring here to see too many quotes and Sayings. But I’ll tell you what; I think I can have a happy life because of these words.

In my life I have learned a lot wise words. These words are really useful for my life. I think I can have a happy life and true contentment in life because of these words. If you can apply them in your life, it will be very useful for you too. Quotations help us remember the simple yet profound truths that give life perspective and meaning. When it comes to life’s most important lessons, we can all use gentle reminders.

This is a gentle and heartfelt guide to the fundamentals of living a life rich in joy and contribution.

Remember, those whose lives you have touched and whose have touched yours are always a part of you,

Things that seem very interesting to me may be not interesting to you.

I consist of more than just my past. In fact, I think about it, my past is only one third of who I am.

The other two parts consist of who I am today, as well as who I hope to be in the future…in other words, I hopes and dreams for the future.Who I am today and who I hope to be in the future are all part of the Whole Person. This is who I am.

After I finished high school in Battambang in 2002, I went to university in Phnom Penh. There was one time that I read English book and I felt so gratitude for my parents’ support. I mean about everything. My parents bought me a home and a car after studying in Phnom Penh for a while. I also had a housekeeper so I had a easy life! 🙂 Without them, I don’t know what my life would be. I love my parents with all my♥heart♥ I have the best parents in the whole world. I am most proud of my parents. Because of them, I have been able to live the life I want to. Let me tell you something about family: (F)ather (A)nd (M)other (I) (L)ove (Y)ou.

I made a lot of friends, they are from school and from youth exchange program that I joined. One of my biggest challenges living in Phnom Penh was that I lived alone, only with a housekeeper. But it was ok I could take care of myself. Living outside of the home I felt I needed friends and a girlfriend. I like being around people. Sometimes, my friends came to have party and sleep-over at my house.

Many friends treat me with respect. I have been taught and energised, and they have touched my heart. To all those who helped me,  Thank goodness there are people like you in the world! You are tolerant and conscious of others, and people are generally drawn to your kind open demeanor. You give help when it is needed and enjoy the happiness of others. Sometimes you may have bad days, but you try not to take it out on other people. Your goodness inspires people to be the same way, and you know that your friends will do the same things for you that you do for them. I am really glad to know you and I am honored to be your friend. when I need friend you are always there for me, thank you so much. Keep going your good heart, my friend. God Bless you. 🙂

I had an easy and happy student life, just studying and not worrying about other things. When my girlfriend asked to have breakfast early in the morning I could get up for her, but if my parent asked me to buy something for them, I told them to wait until I had had enough sleep. But now I wound do it without waiting. I am easy-going and a yes man. Sometimes, I am the kind of man who like to do for others more than I do for myself. When my friends had any problems and wanted me to help, I would always go out to help them. I was always easy on my girlfriend and friends. All of this made me realize that I want to be easy and do whatever I can to keep my parents happy. My parents: they are so kind and helpful, when their relatives need help from them, they always help. That really shows me a good example. I’ve always talked with them openly. I used to have a broken heart that hurt badly and I called to my Daddy, just wanting to get some emotional support from him to cheer me up and he said, “We are your parents, we never hurt you and we love you as our own eye, because that girl is not worth your grief”.

Everything good about me is I have my parents. 🙂

My parents and SSEAYP family are my source of inspiration. :)

That was good motivation for me to move on and I replied: Thank you Daddy!

Time is the best medicine for healing broken heart.

I think I have a happy and warm family. My father always said “If you don’t swim you don’t feel tired” ទាល់តែហែលទើបដឹងថាហត់

he means if I don’t explore life I am not going to know what life is. These words really meet up with my view. You’ve probably heard the saying that diversity is the spice of life. It means go to different places, meet different people, and see different things.

My brother taught me one thing: “one sweet phrase can keep people warm for the whole winter”. He called me ”The Carabao” អ្នកតស៊ូដ៏យ៉ាប់យឿន( that means I am tough because sometimes I had party until morning and I was able to go to school or  sometimes without sleep I still can drive to other cities). I told him that I am just a responsible man and my mum just wants me to be a good person and not go out a lot.

While I studied in Phnom Penh, I made a lot of friends. I have many god-brothers too. I had one argument with ex god-brother; he is kind of an arrogant man. He yelled at me and I yelled back at him (I cannot stand being yelled at) and later he said to my friend that I am in no position to yell at him, that I have no social status and even my parents have no right to yell at him. When I heard that from my friend it really made me angry, that moment my soul was on fire. I don’t want someone to mention my parents when they have an argument with me. May be that’s my hot button. Someone insults me, I can stand it. I don’t care and (no offence to you, readers) I will say I don’t give a damn shit what you think about me, I just try my best. I am not a violent person, but if he said those words to me, face to face, I don’t know what I would do to him that day!

Luckily, nothing happened that day if something happened that day it is will be a very worse between both of us. You guys have no idea what he is capable of! He is some kind of high class and have a big network. But I am fear of no man, but I have respect for almost everyone. That’s the spirit of me. If someone insulted my parents I don’t care who the hell you are. Opps, I am a bit outspoken. I have one life, I have enjoyed my life enough what I regret the most is my parents, something is wrong with me is heart-breaking for my parents. One life is connected to many hearts. When you have a problem or lose your life, it can damage the heart of your friends, loved one, relatives and especially your parents. We need to consider our actions and what the consequences will be. What I am trying to say here is not to scare you guys. My main message is be careful who you hang out with. Some friends can bring trouble to you and take advantage over you.I will get rid of the friends that are bad for my life.

Don’t think that I don’t know how to talk good thing about my friends, here is what I have wrote about good things that my friend have done for me. 🙂

https://dydara.wordpress.com/2010/03/14/the-friend/

After that, I don’t hang out with him anymore. I had many arguments with him. I used to love and respect him as my brother. Right now I don’t hate or hold a grudge against him! 🙂 But I regret that why I hang out with this kind of man.

I don’t like feeling angry or being envious. When you have that, you’ll feel unhappy. I always made my feeling as clear as water.

I have known my best friend for 13 years; I hang out with him many times but I don’t even have a small argument. But some friends I just hang out with them a few time, I had some argument. I try to think something is wrong with me. I just realized that my personality is still like a mirror, whatever you did in front of it, you would see it reflected back at you. If my friends yell at me I will yell back at them.

If they don’t provoke me first I will not provoke them. Some friends like to blame me if something is wrong, I am not kind of pointing finger person who like to blame others, I am just trying to sort it out. They keep mentions about his good deeds to me. Some friends like to talk behind me even defame about me. Usually I am easy-going person, but with difficult people, I will behave like difficult person to them.Remember that everybody is somebody’s difficult person sometime.

I had a addictive personality, for example when I drank alcohol I just drank alcohol to my heart’s desire, or if I enjoyed reading a book I didn’t sleep, I just read for the whole night. Sometimes, I don’t like to sleep because I think when I die I will sleep forever. That is why I want to get as much done in life as possible. Moreover, If I talked on the phone with someone  that I liked I didn’t want to hang up, but make sure I asked the person I talked to whether they are happy or enjoy talking with me or not. I realized it is not just about me but the other person too. But now I know how to balance these things. At one time I am care free ,but at some point I think a lot about my life.

I don’t like to judge people. What they are doing is their business. But if they need my help if I can I will. It reminds me of one thing. I went to a photo shop to print and laminate my pictures with my girlfriend as key chain. The girl at that place said and pointed to my girlfriend “she is a lucky girl” I  asked “Why” she said “nowadays it is hard to find a rich man with good heart. In that time I spoke to her very politely and I behaved like a gentleman. And then I got to the car. I smiled, laughed and thought how much she knew about me and said that to me. It is remind me of not judge a book by it’s cover. Sometimes, I say swear words, not to offend anyone, but try to make fun of it.

I was a participant in the Ship for Southeast Asian Youth Program 2005 (SSEAYP) in Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Brunei, Philippines, and Japan. I like this program so much. SSEAYP  shaped my interest in volunteer, culture, share and contribute to society.I have learned a lot from pre-departure training and during the program, how to share, love and appreciate people. learn how to be a sweet person and learn how to do for others more than you do for yourself.

I met a lot of incredible and talented people. I have learned a lot from them. I can tell a few example here”  it is not a problem if you think it is a problem it makes you have a problem”  and” learn to satisfy.” For instance, I took a picture and I don’t’ like the way I look or pose learn to make yourself satisfy with that. I am a happy man before I heard that words but that words make me happier. I learned this from someone, I cannot remember who. So if it was you, please jump in and remind me so that I can give you credit. The idea is that you should think like a digger who dig a big amount of land just to find small diamonds. which means you should see his good deeds rather than their bad deeds.(may be My National Leader of youth contingent) which helps me to work well with people.  We love each other as a family and this is another family of mine called SSEAYP family. Family isn’t whose blood you carry. lt’s who you love and who loves you. These experiences from this program It was an unforgettable moment of my life. This was the Best program Ever !!!!. A life-changing experience. SSEAYP was awesome. I♥ SSEAYP, you’ve given me so much, so far beyond my expectation. You are the one journey that I will never ever regret taking. ♥ 🙂 I wouldn’t trade it for anything!

May  SSEAYP Long Live 🙂

After my graduation, I spent 2 years off, just for travelling. I had fun, but at the same time, some mornings I would wake up and feel like I was a kind of useless person, not doing anything  and always getting headaches too. Everyone has a conscience. Me too. When you have done something wrong, your conscience will blame and it will be on your conscience.

On the day of the countdown to 2010, I wished I could get a job and put my degree to work. A few days later, the first time I applied for a job, I got accepted. My dream came true.  So I have chance to contribute to my society and that’s the right thing to do for my conscience too. I do this job for my parent as well. Because while I stayed home I don’t feel motivated to help my family business. Now I am working in Poipet. Working here has opened my eyes and made me realized that foreigners love and help poor Cambodian children, why don’t we love and help our own people. Even their kids are motivated to help when they see our poor children photos, they save their lunch money and send it to them here in Poipet. Working here made me know the value of money. I am happy with my job. Now I am staying at my aunt’s family. She treats me well, but there is no housekeeper to do some things for me; I have to do everything for myself. I don’t hang out a lot because I have to be home early. It’s ok for me because I have enjoyed enough of that. Before, I did whatever I wanted to do; now that I live with another family, I have to respect what they are doing for me. ”No place like home” “Home! Sweet Home!”   My mum wants me to take care of the family business. I will resign from my post soon. It’s a family business I have to take care of and I hope I have a long commitment to do this. This is what I believe and think about things in life You can’t get too much done in life if you only working on the days when you feel good.  I think most my friends always appreciate my happy life, behind the scenes are my parents, who inspired me to have a happy life. I used to be a disobedient or bad son. I always went wherever I wanted to. I made my parents upset and worry about me a lot. Sorry Mum and Dad!

Remember that everybody is somebody’s difficult person sometime. 😦

If you have read this story “The boy and the apple tree”

I feel like I am really that boy, who comes to my parents when I need them.

https://dydara.wordpress.com/2010/03/29/the-boy-and-the-apple-tree-a-touching-story/

The message I want to convey is

This is a story about everyone. The tree is our parent. No matter what, parents will always be there and give everything they could to make you happy.

Everybody has apple trees in his or her life. And they are your parents…

No matter how busy you are, share some time with your parents. We owe a lot to our parents, many teachers, relatives and friends who have given us their time, care and love through the years. Filial piety and gratitude are noble and great spiritual virtues to cultivate. Just be the best you can be, and know that they will still love you no matter what. We must show our gratitude to our parents and people who care for us, don’t hesitate.

Don’t wait until it is too late.

Show our gratitude towards our parents, who forebear pain and discomfort in bringing us up to adulthood.

You can show your love and respect to your parents through various methods, which includes listening to them, talking to them openly when you have problem and get some advices from them, saying you love them often, buying them something after you visited other places and treating them to a lunch/dinner some day and last, but not least, is standing tall and giving a thankful speech. Writing a good thankful speech to parent is definitely an art.  However, when you have decided to write it, show your best interest into it.

Thankful speech is a special way to show that you honor your parents. There cannot be a better way to show your love and respect to your parents, than through words. Words are the strongest and dense communicator. They are the tools with which you carve a niche in the heart of your parents. Here you got to be cautious of your words and selection of words should be of high standard and full of life and vigor.

You can just say everything you have in your mind. However, you have to be selective in choice of words.

When someone hurts us

we should write it down in sand where winds of forgiveness can erase it away.

But, when someone does something good for us, we must engrave it in stone

where no wind can ever erase it.”

LEARN TO WRITE YOUR HURTS IN THE SAND

AND TO CARVE YOUR BENEFITS IN STONE!!!

Do not value the THINGS you have in your life. But value WHO you have in your life! Life’s short. If you don’t look around once in a while ,you might miss it.

From point of my view: you can prove me wrong. But that reality may be viewed differently depending upon one’s perspective, suggesting that what seems an absolute truth may be relative due to the deceptive nature of half-truths. What I went through made me think so.

This is what I’ve done with my life so far. These were stories that really gave me an insight as to who that I was and what made me the person that I presently am.

These are people (family and friends) that have and still do have impact in my life…and so on!”. The most wonderful memories of my life. I have a great parents. That is a moment to remember. I am so proud of my parents. Because of them, I have been able to live the life I want to. It is not too late to change. My parents tolerate my honest mistakes. Now I start to listen to them, they seem to be happy with me and they know what is best for me. I am easy with many people around me now I start to want to do more for my parents. Working and living in another place make me want to come home. When I grow old, I have realized many things. My parent always provided me what I wanted. I can talk to them openly. What I am, what I have, what I know today is from my parents. They are my God. I feel ashamed of what I did to upset and worry my parents. But the bottom line is I would be more ashamed if I dun accept the facts and don’t change.  I want to live out my values every day. In the past I never made a commitment unless I was going to keep it up. It’s a family business I have to take care of and I hope I have a long commitment to do this. I’m my parents’ son. I want to make my parents proud of me. I was an outstanding student, and was honored to receive my certificate from Prime Minister of Cambodia. And I was selected by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport as a national leader of Cambodian contingent (youth ambassador), to lead a group of Cambodian youth delegates during the course of the Youth Camp for Asia’s Future 2008 program, in South Korea. I made a lot mistakes in my life but I learned from my mistakes, lesson learned. I still have much to learn.Don’t copy my bad habits.

Before, I was a dare-devil when I got drunk and sad, I drove very fast, without realizing the value of life.ហេងដែរឆ្លងផុត!!! Now, no more. One life is connected to many hearts. When you have a problem or lose your life, it can damage the heart of your friend, loved one, relative and especially your parents. Sometimes I say swear words and dun care much about people around me, but deep down I know I love you, all who I know. I want to have my own happy family, as my parents did. “This is what I plan and hope to do with the rest of my life…”

In my opinion: ពេលផឹកចេះ sing បទគួរហាមចិត្តខ្លះដែរបើមិនដូចេ្នះ ទេ sing បទលំបាកតែឯង. When you are drinking if you don’t control yourself, the next morning you are hurting yourself!  Dy Dara: Sometimes, I think when my friends ask me to hang out at night. I have to share to them abt 50. If I stay at home I can save 50 and I can still go through the nite. But if I think like this all the time my life will suck. Better you know when is inappropriate time to go. One good sentence cannot apply to all situations, but most of them do.

Please jump in and remind me so that I can give you credit. The idea is that you should think like a digger who dig a big amount of land just to find small diamonds. which means you should see his good deeds rather than their bad deeds.(may be My National Leader of youth contingent) which helps me to work well with other people.

I’ve learned to be self-aware, and that changed a lot of perceptions about myself, other people and life. I spent many long years of my life trying to understand how to become aware. I used to react with reflection, wonder why people act the way they Do? and rationalizing my every action.

Awareness is the first step in the creation process. As you grow in self awareness, you will better understand why you feel what you feel and why you behave as you behave. That understanding then gives you the opportunity and freedom to change those things you’d like to change about yourself and create the life you want.

Individuality is not a trait shared by everyone. I Respect the individuality of others and be accepting of individual differences. But some people don’t understand mine. Some people find me weird. I am a carefree person, I don’t care what others think about me because I can’t control what others think of me. “judge me all you want, but keep the verdict to yourself.” But whatever I do, I just don’t step on other people’s shoes and do not spit on other people’s life. I can do whatever I want with my life. This is my life. 🙂 And despite all this little controversy that I have with my personality, I still remain to be a Simple man. Overall I am happy with myself! 🙂

What I am trying to say here is not to get more people like me or get more friends, I think I have enough friends that keep me busy enough!
Just want to share some ideas! 🙂

The difference makes the world beautiful. It means that everyone is unique in his/her own way and don’t look down on someone who is different from you.

“Everything has its beauty, but not everyone sees it.” ~ Confucius
Only understanding, easy-going and open minded people that can see the beauty of my personality.

To youths who read this I have this message: You should have self-discipline, effort, academic achievement, social participation and community service. Listen to them and do as much as you can. Just be the best you can be “For your parents’ sake.”

If you can do most of these things, your parents will proud of you!

Everyone cannot succeed in everything they do, but just keep trying. Failing does not mean the end of everything. You should keep your self-belief, find out your weak point and improve on it. Failing to achieve is not a failure, but losing your hope and motivation is a true failure. What I am saying here is not teaching you. I am not qualified to teach anyone, but I just want to share some ideas with you guys, audiences!

When I achieve all my goals. I’ll realize the true meaning of life.

I want to live a comfortable life and be able to fulfill my life’s purpose.

If there is a next life, I want to be their children forever.

Thank you my friends and parents.

Without them, I don’t know what my life would be.

I am so proud of my parents. They give me everything. I have been able to live the life I want to. Thank to my parents who have done many good things to me and have added value to me. For that I gratitude and appreciate.

I love you so much♥Mum and♥Dad.

I just wanna live my life to the fullest. nothing more, nothing less.

Every time I have great moment I feel that I owe that to my parents because they give me ultimate freedom and support me no matter what I do but on two conditions:

 – Don’t bring trouble to the family

 – Protect yourself from…
